The smell of coffee brewing and that first sip in the morning are heavenly. Before I was a coffee drinker, I never understood the hype. Then in the middle of my chemistry degree, I woke up one morning needing it. Even though I never really had it before, I just knew I needed it! Now, it is something I look forward to every single morning!

Coffee is amazing…not just in taste, not just for your sanity, but also due to it’s chemical intricacy.

Coffee beans are truly one of the most fascinating chemicals on earth, that gets even more interesting when it is ground and brewed.

One of my fondest memories of summertime involves popsicles. That first day of summer, when school was FINALLY out, I would walk down to the corner store near our house (with my mom, of course) and dig through their ice cream freezer. I would always get a popsicle or a Flinstone’s push pop. Do you remember those? That was one of my favorite afternoon treats.

At home, my mom would stock up all kinds of popsicles too. They are truly the perfect summer treat! It gets hot in Texas every summer. The kind of heat where you only want to drink ice cold drinks, eat cold foods, and wear as little clothing as possible because it is HOT! Even with the ac on.

So, I am constantly coming up with frozen treats that we can enjoy all summer long.

This popsicle recipe was inspired because of a really neat tea I bought last summer. This strawberry black tea had such a unique flavor, I thought it would make a great frozen treat for this time of year. I was thinking of a unique way to use up the rest of the tea bags and I thought, why not a popsicle?
